SEATTLE — Graham poured in 25 points with five assists as No. 8 Gonzaga toppled No. 25 UCLA 82-72 on Saturday night, lifting the Bulldogs to 9-1 on the season.
Ike got Gonzaga off to a quick start, scoring 15 in the first half and punctuating the period with a thunderous tomahawk dunk at 8:02 that pushed the lead to 23-19. The Bulldogs grabbed their first lead shortly after Ike’s dunk on a 3-pointer by Adam Miller, erasing a 7-0 deficit.
Tyler Bilodeau led UCLA (7-3) with 22 points, shooting 4-for-6 from three-point range.
UCLA trailed 45-40 at halftime, but opened the second half with a 9-0 burst — capped by Donovan Dent’s transition layup — to seize a 54-53 advantage.
The teams traded baskets until Gonzaga pulled ahead for good on Braeden Smith’s 3-pointer with 10:37 left, giving the Bulldogs a 62-60 edge. Gonzaga then closed the game by scoring 20 of the final 32 points.
Free-throw struggles hindered Gonzaga, who finished 20-for-32 at the line (62.5%).
The Bruins fought hard to contain Ike, who logged a season-high 28 points in Gonzaga’s prior win over then-No. 18 Kentucky, a 94-59 rout last week. Braden Huff contributed 21 points for the Bulldogs.
Dent contributed 12 points and a season-high 10 assists for UCLA. Xavier Booker added 12 points as well. UCLA has now dropped three of its last five.
